Training Goals for 2014

Training Guidelines:

ChecklistAlways have a training objective when sparring. The goal of training is not to win but expand skill-sets…training is not a competition.  Always be humble…ego has no place in a learning environment and will hamper progress.  Continually work on weak areas and view them as opportunities to expand strengths.  Train at least 3 times a week and improve fitness off the mats at least 3 times a week.  

Training Goals: 

Long Term Goals: (1 to 5 years)
* Continually develop a conservative game focused on applying the fundamentals at a high level.

Intermediate Term Goals: (6 months to 1 year)
* Improve escapes and submission defense.
Drop two weight classes.
* Improve vale tudo / self defense skill-sets.

Short Term Goals: (1 to 6 months)
* Develop schedule to focus my weekly sparring goals.
* Devote one day a week to drilling & weak areas. 
* Improve mount submissions.

Weak Areas:                                      Strong Areas:
* Flexibility                                            *Guard Passing
* Heavier opponents                              *Open Guard 
* Escapes                                              *Sweeps
